Mihir Samdarshi
Senior Software Engineer
Mihir Samdarshi is a Senior Software Engineer at Foresite Labs, where he develops production agentic AI systems for biopharma investment intelligence. His work spans domain-grounded agentic and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems, vision-language pipelines for extracting structured data from biomedical literature, and large-scale financial data infrastructure.
Previously, Mihir was a Software and Bioinformatics Engineer in Stanford University’s Ashley Lab, where he architected cloud-native, high-throughput computational pipelines for the NIH-funded Molecular Transducers of Physical Activity Consortium (MoTrPAC). His work included building petabyte-scale multi-omics processing pipelines as well as the API backend and Kubernetes infrastructure powering the MoTrPAC Data Portal, which securely serves multi-omics datasets to more than 10,000 researchers each month. Mihir earned a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Computer Science from Loyola Marymount University. Before joining Stanford, he helped launch the Data Science and Engineering team at Beyond Meat.
His technical interests lie at the intersection of software engineering, artificial intelligence, and computational biology. He is particularly interested in applying proven software engineering technologies such as cloud-native infrastructure, distributed systems, and the Rust programming language to advance scalable, high-performance biomedical research. Outside of work, Mihir enjoys snowboarding and being active, tinkering with hardware and electronics, trying new recipes, and playing strategy and cooperative video games, with favorites including Factorio, Civilization, and Borderlands.
