Tim Aikin, PhD
Senior Associate, New Ventures
Tim joined the New Ventures team to apply emerging life sciences technology to company creation at the forefront of therapeutics and biotech.
Before joining Foresite Labs, Tim completed his PhD at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, where he was an NSF Graduate Research Fellow. There, he engineered tools to observe signaling dynamics and cell behaviors during cancer development. During his PhD, Tim also worked on companies accelerating drug discovery with deep learning and developing cell therapies as part of the Nucleate and Freedom from Cancer startup accelerators. He then participated in the inaugural Foresite Fellows Program cohort. Tim’s research interests span synthetic biology, molecular oncology, high throughput imaging, and computational analysis. At Foresite Labs, he applies these approaches and novel technology to build companies to overcome challenges in human health.
